Just don’t wait too long to open your Slam Dunk CD! The starting rate is 4.50% Annual Percentage Yield regardless of when you open your CD, but you’ll only get rate increases for home wins that take place AFTER account opening.

Yes, the CD renews with a 6-month term. You will have 10 calendar days after the maturity date to withdraw funds without penalty. We’ll give you a heads up prior to the maturity date.
A substantial penalty is imposed if CD funds other than dividends are withdrawn before the maturity date. The penalty is equal to the smaller of the following two amounts: dividends since the date of issuance/renewal or dividends earned in the 6 months prior to the date of withdrawal.
You never lose your principal, even if you close the CD before it matures. However, the CD balance must be at least $100 or the account will be closed.

The Slam Dunk CD and Slam Dunk IRA CD term is 7 months and the initial 4.50% Annual Percentage Yield is subject to availability. Once opened, the APY will not decrease, but it may increase if the Villanova Men’s Basketball Team wins a home game (Qualifying Victory). After each Qualifying Victory, the APY will increase by 10 basis points effective the day after the win. The APY will not exceed 6.00%. Interest is calculated daily and paid monthly. Minimum deposit to open the CD is $100 and the maximum deposit is $500,000. New money only. New money is considered to be funds on deposit at Ardent Credit Union for 30 days or less. All other terms and conditions of the Slam Dunk CD are the same as Ardent Credit Union’s CDs as defined in the Truth in Savings Disclosure. There is a penalty for withdrawal of principal prior to the maturity date. The penalty is equal to the smaller of the following two amounts: interest earned since the date of issuance/renewal or interest earned in the 6 months prior to the date of withdrawal. The CD will automatically renew at maturity to a 6-month CD for the APY in effect at that time unless you notify us. An Ardent membership is required for this product. You are eligible to join if you live, work, worship, volunteer or go to school in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties.
